Sarah Millican Lands Television Pilot

South Shields born comedian Sarah Millican is set to record a pilot for BBC 2.

‘The Sarah Millican Show’ will be recorded in Manchester on Wednesday 25th May and is being produced by Graham Norton’s production company, So Television, who also produce Norton’s hit Friday night chat show. A press release for the show states: “Sarah Millican is in the mood to make the nation feel a bit better. Her way. Welcome to The Sarah Millican Show, her very own comedy show, which will use the power of stand-up and a good tune to heal us all.”

The sometimes Loose Women panelist is the latest circuit regular to be snapped up by the BBC’s ever-growing comedy department, following in the footsteps of John Bishop, Russell Howard, Stephen K. Amos and Michael McIntyre amongst others.

Talking to The British Comedy Guide last week, Sarah said: “I am very excited to be working on a TV pilot for the BBC. The combination of So Television and the BBC makes me feel like I’m in very funny safe hands”
