The BBC has today announced nine new iPlayer comedy pilots from the likes of Kayvan Novak, Ashley Walters, Aisling Bea, Josh Widdicombe and Katy Wix.

The Comedy Feeds – available on iPlayer from 20 July – are now in their third year after two successful runs which saw BBC Three commissioning full series of People Just Do Nothing, Nick Helm’s Heavy Entertainment and Impractical Jokers.

Speaking about the Comedy Feeds, Shane Allen, Controller of BBC Comedy Commissioning, says: “This exciting range of shows and new talents cement BBC Three’s place as the key place for emerging comedy talent on and off screen.

“With so many spin-off series springing from these, the Comedy Feeds show serious commitment to finding the next best writers, directors and faces of British comedy.”

Victoria Jaye, Head of TV Content for BBC iPlayer, adds: “Comedy Feeds are a great example of BBC iPlayer’s unique role in growing the hits of tomorrow.

“The platform enables us to showcase the most exciting work from the very best new British talent across over 1,200 devices and four screens, and make that content shareable and discoverable in a myriad of new ways.

“The genre of comedy hugely benefits from this sort of approach to development.”
