Flyering without wings

A lot of comedians bare their soul on stage, becoming metaphorically naked in the process. Sham Bodie thinks metaphors are for wusses, so they sent host Ben Tonge out to the streets with 240 flyers gaffer taped to his person to let people know about the show and to make him truly naked.

Ben said: “Piccadilly Gardens [in Manchester] was a good start. Some scally kids thought they were hilarious, a mum and her two children looked at me in disgust, but flyers started to get ripped from my body. I made it seem much more painful than it actually was. And I looked naked, but I wasn’t quite. I had some nice old briefs on. The kind you have worn about 800 times. Mmm. Comfort.

“A surprising amount of people went for the flyers covering my balls, only to be met with my briefs.”

Sham Bodie 10 is at Kraak this Thursday at 7.30pm with comedy from Immodium Nitrate and David Stanier, music from Fruit Tones, and music and comedy from Foxdog Studios.
