Jason Byrne, Aisling Bea and Mark Steel are among the latest acts to be announced as part of Latitude’s 2015 comedy bill.

The festival’s tenth anniversary line-up already features the likes of James Acaster, Luisa Omielan, Matt Forde, and Fosters Comedy Award Best Newcomer 2014 Alex Edelman, as well as the XFM holy trinity – Josh Widdicombe, John Robins and Elis James.

Arts arenas curator Tania Harrison ‘The side-splitting line-up in Latitude’s phenomenal Comedy Arena grows ever larger’ Tania Harrison (arts arenas curator) commented, ‘with the addition of Irish stand up Andrew Maxwell, renowned for his cutting edge comedy and intrepid social commentary’.

Latitude’s comedy tent will house over 80 comedians this summer, performing to a capacity of 2000 festival-goers. Beth Vyse, Stuart Laws and Garrett Millerick are among the acts named who will be performing sets in the poetry, cabaret and literary arenas, and the Shed of Stories.

Vyse will be previewing her new show, As Funny As Cancer, following a run at Soho Theatre with her 2014 Edinburgh character comedy show Get Up With Hands.

As well as reems of stand-up comedy, Latitude is (as ever) full of sketch: including Natasia Demetriou and Ellie White as Sexy American Girl Cousins; sketch outfits Lazy Susan, Gein’s Family Giftshop and Pappys; and Max and Ivan perform their latest offering, The End.

This year also sees Tim Key show his face in the comedy arena again after various stints in the poetry and theatre tents; plus Diane Morgan (of Two Episodes of Mash fame, with Joe Wilkinson) will appear at the festival as Linda Cockshott, ‘acclaimed astrologer, medium and intuitive healer’.

Latitude 2015 runs from 16-19 July. Follow Latitude Festival on Twitter and like their Facebook page for further updates and information, and visit their website for information about tickets and camping.
