Newcastle’s Hyena Comedy Club have announced that they will be bringing tour shows to Tyneside from July.

Three shows have been confirmed today – from Lee Nelson, Richard Herring and Tom Wrigglesworth – with more in the pipeline.

Nelson will be bringing his live show to The Hyena on Sunday 20 July.

Herring will visit Tyneside on his Lord Of The Dance Settee tour on Thursday 16 October.

While Wrigglesworth comes to The Hyena on Thursday 13 November with his latest show, Totally At Odds With The Universe.

The latest announcement represents a clear shift in approach from the once troubled comedy club, with Herring and Wrigglesworth acts you might expect to see at the nearby Stand Comedy Club on High Bridge.

Dave Hadingham, who books shows at The Hyena, told Giggle Beats: “The Hyena has a long history of booking touring shows over the years such as Al Murray, Mark Thomas, Tommy Tiernan amongst others.

“Since my involvement in the club it has always been my intention to put it back on the comedy map, restoring it to its original glory.

“Since the refurbishment and other changes in the running of the evenings it has once again become a pleasure to both play and view comedy in.”

Tickets for all shows are on sale now.
