“I’m an immature, grumpy man.”
“If I go for an audition for another show, it’s quite often as the crazy neighbour. You think; well, I’m glad I’ve got this audition, but it’d be nice not to have to do that role forever.”
“I did my first gig at the end of my first year of university and remarkably it went well. My 3rd or 4th gig was awful but I’d tasted this thing that was brilliant and wanted to do it again.”
“I get turned off by comedy which feels “contrived” or is overly predicated on perpetuating lazy and inaccurate stereotypes. Or when comedians pretend to get angry about things that aren’t actually that bad and overcompensate for lazy writing by shouting.”
“That’s some of the most hate I’ve ever had. I got stuff like, ‘I’m going to cut your head off next time you come to Coventry.’”
“I’m not vile or disgusting; I mean, I have my moments but I don’t go over the top.”
