Shortlists revealed for the 2014 British Comedy Awards

Toast Of London, House of Fools and Inside No. 9 all up for awards.

House of Fools, Inside No. 9 and Matt Berry’s Toast of London have all been shortlisted in the 2014 British Comedy Awards.

Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer’s BBC Two sitcom has been nominated for Best Sitcom alongside Sky One’s Moone Boy, The Trip to Italy and Toast Of London.

Inside No. 9, written by Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton, has been shortlisted for Best New Comedy Programme with Man Down, The Wrong Mans and, once again, Toast Of London.

Berry’s Toast Of London has been nominated for eight awards in total. Berry has been nominated for Best TV Comedy Actor and Best Breakthrough Artist for his role in House of Cards. On top of this, he has a separate nomination in the new internet comedy category for his Lone Wolf sketch.

Doon Mackichan, who plays the agent of Berry’s character Stephen Toast, has also been shortlisted for best actress.
