Channel 4 has commissioned a sitcom pilot by Graham Linehan and Adam Buxton set on a data-hub floating about earth.

The Cloud is set on Cloud Station 13, a space station built to protect the vast amounts of information the human population now hoards on its endless devices – the majority of which comprises of selfies, copious pictures of kittens and a lot of porn.

The cast stars Buxton, Aisling Bea, and Jamie Demetriou.

A blurb for the pilot reads: “The disparate group who man the hub are anything but technical whizzes; which would matter less if technology – including a largely voice activated ship – was a little more reliable.”

The Cloud is produced and directed by The IT Crowd’s Richard Boden and will film in spring 2015.
