The dates, venues and headliners have been announced for this year’s Newcastle Gateshead Comedy Festival, with shows taking place in late July.

This year the festival will be held primarily at Newcastle’s Live Theatre, with selected shows taking place at St Dominic’s and The Sage, Gateshead. Headlining the annual event will be a host of rising stars and well known TV personalities. Highlights include Edinburgh show previews from South Shields born comics Sarah Millican and Chris Ramsey as well as Tom Stade, Jason Cook, Alun Cochrane and many more.

Also appearing are TV’s Isy Suttie and Norman Lovett (Dobby from Peep Show and Red Dwarf’s original Holly respectfully), who are also previewing their Edinburgh festival shows. As well as the many Edinburgh tasters though, there will also be a special ‘Local Heroes’ night, which will showcase five regional comedians before a second performance from Chris Ramsey.

The Newcastle Gateshead Comedy Festival will take place from the 22nd to the 31st of July. Information for all events, including, venues, performers and prices, will be added to the Giggle Beats calender this weekend.
