Ross Noble

Geordie Ross Noble is best known for his random and scatty tales, running around on stage and going off on a tangent. It appears that things never change. Starting the night off talking about an inflatable doll after a woman had decided to bring one along to the show, it was clear that Ross’s latest show, Nonsensory Overload, was never really going to make that much sense.

Perhaps she brought her blow up buddy along to compliment Ross’s set full of inflatable items that refer to his past shows and previous jokes throughout his career; but strangely we never got an answer to why the lady’s extra guest was there. However the incident obviously got Ross’s creative juices flowing, as it made way for many strange and interesting stories throughout the night – this is the way of Ross Noble and also why it was a sold out gig.

At one point a member of the audience let out a bizarre squeak of laughter, and Ross came up with the scenario that someone was being ‘humped in the face by a guinea pig’ and then proceed to imitate the animal. However, if you’ve seen any of Ross’s shows before you’ll be aware that he’s a very active comedian and likes to imitate things or people along with doing weird facial expressions e.g. becoming a guinea pig.

Ross is famous for going off-topic, but this show really was testament to that. After beginning to tell us why he hates Lady Gaga at least three times, he would suddenly forget and talk about something else. But fear not, we did eventually find out, as when he came back on stage for his encore the whole audience chanted ‘Lady Gaga’.

If you want more of Ross Noble his DVD of last year’s tour ‘Things’ can be pre-ordered on Amazon, or you could simply wait to buy it at the shops on 29th November.
