Looking for a giggle in the coming months, Teessiders?

Well listen round; comedy fans will be spoiled for choice this summer, as a deluge of the country’s top comics descend across venues in Hartlepool, Darlington and Middlebrough.

As well as tour shows from TV regulars like Alan Carr and Kevin Bridges, club nights such as Stockton’s Catch 22, Hartlepool’s Hot Potato and Middlesbrough’s Big Mouth will be welcoming some of the best up-and-coming and circuit acts to the area.

Here are just a few of the choice shows you can catch on Teesside this summer:

Saturday 6 June: Big Mouth Comedy Club, Middlesbrough Town Hall Crypt. Mock the Week regular Gary Delaney, Barry Castagnola, 2014 Edinburgh Comedy Awards’ Best Newcomer Alex Edelman and MC Matt Reed take the stage at June’s Big Mouth.

Saturday 13 June: Patrick Monahan: Adventures in Monahanland, Middlesbrough Town Hall Crypt. One of Teesside’s favourite sons returns to his hometown with his full-length show.

Saturday 20 June: Paul Sinha: Postcards From The Z List, ARC, Stockton. A keenly anticipated Edinburgh preview here from that bloke, from that quiz, in that poorly fitting white suit.

Saturday 11 July: Matt Reed: Stalked. ARC, Stockton. Catch 22 favourite Matt Reed previews his keenly anticipated Edinburgh show about falling prey to a stalker.

Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 July: Alan Carr. Yap, Yap, Yap! Middlesbrough Town Hall. Stand-up and chat show host supremo returns for two nights following his sold-out appearance back in April.

Sunday 9 August: Jimmy Carr: Funny Business, Middlesbrough Town Hall. The 8 Out of 10 Cats kingpin is back for a third Middleborough date by public demand.
