Cult Geordie comedian Gavin Webster has announced a tour of his favourite venues in the North East.

The Gavin Webster 2015 World Tour sees the Comedian’s Comedian winner visit theatres in Billingham, Darlington, Stanley and Hexham, culminating in a show at the Whitley Bay Playhouse on Friday 20 November.

A press release for the tour reads: “This is a much anticipated roadshow in that it involves great theatres throughout the large North East of England area, personally picked by Gav as the best towns to play in the North East outside of Newcastle itself.

“The actual show promises to be typically Gavin Webster; high octane, close to the bone and quick fire, with many gag to the minute routines, peppered with sardonic songs that are finished by the time you decide you need to complain about them.

“Black humour, observations and moronic jokes complete the unique and stand-alone experience of seeing this greatly original, angry comedian.”

And Webster said: “This my first ever tour, despite spending the last 22 years travelling throughout the planet doing stand-up comedy. Fittingly it’s called ‘The World Tour’ even though all the dates are within a 40 mile radius of my house.”

The full tour dates are:

Sunday 4 October – Billingham Forum
Sunday 11 October – Inside Out, Darlington
Friday 30 October – Civic Hall, Stanley
Thursday 12 November – Queens Hall, Hexham
Friday 20 November – Whitley Bay Playhouse

Tickets for all shows are on sale now from individual venues.
